Unrest in the Doggy kingdom

Hello my name is Homer. I am the Hess family dog. I am writing this from my sick bed, in deep recovery from Traumtic Displacement Syndrome, caused by the arrival in the Hess home of a critter smaller and (sigh) more handsome than I . Yes, Drew came for Thanksgiving and promptly took over the household. He sat in Virginia's lap and when I tried to join them she pushed me off. He chased me with a wooden block, and I am of course too much of a gentleman to get aggressive back, so the entire weekend was hide and seek. Drew can run as fast as I can but he can't jump. All kinds of guests came to see Him, and ignored me when I greeted them. He can almost say Dog, but doesn't even try to say Homer. They wouldn't let Drew feed me Cheerios, although I was quite willing to try them. Fortunately he dropped a few. I thought that Princess Mary would at least love me, but she paid more attention to Drew. She must have forgotten how we bonded at obedience school when I was a young pup. I can smell dinner now, so more tomorrow.
